How long will companies have to wait for the next open version of Android »
Ashlee Vance and Peter Burrows from Businessweek wrote:
From now on, companies hoping to receive early access to Google's most up-to-date software will need approval of their plans. And they will seek that approval from Andy Rubin, the head of Google's Android group.
If up-to-date software is the only carrot on the stick, Andy Rubin might be disappointed with the amount of companies seeking his approval. Only a handful of smartphones sold today run the bleeding edge version of Android which was made available three months ago, December 2010.
The question is, how long are companies willing to wait for the next genuine open version of Android before giving up their tweaked version of Android.
