A Better User Experience For Web Enabled TVs »
At 500 Startups a great idea was pitched by Evan Kuo. While browsing the web, Evan demoed streaming a bunch of online videos from his laptop to a television set nearby.
Although Evan was sparse on technical details his setup probably utilized DLNA technology. A technology which nowadays is supported by most major TV brands and is very popular among game console owners. It allows you to stream photos, music and videos to a television set. Apple's Apple TV has a similar feature called Airplay which can be used with iPhones and iPads.
But more interestingly, Evan's pitched idea solves the problem of having to browse the internet on your television set. Which with current implementations like Google TV is an awful user experience. Maybe Google should talk to Evan Kuo and his team to discuss the future of Google TV.
